Leading materials handling business, Windsor, has unveiled its newest branch in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, taking the company’s total number of branches to nine.
Established in 1977, the company has grown into one of the country’s leading providers of forklift truck and aerial access platform hire, sales and maintenance services.
Managing director, Stephen Burton, believes the new branch in Ossett, Wakefield will provide a modern centre for the support of local businesses.
Said Stephen: “Our ethos is to have a strong local presence to be close to the businesses we supply. Ossett will be the hub for work across West and South Yorkshire where we’ve seen significant growth over the past few years. We don’t operate 0800 numbers and you can speak direct to your local service manager. We attract our customers by redefining our value, based on unique customer insights, and adapting to their needs rather than following them. And we keep them through our expertise, first-class solutions and reliable products.”
The 7,000 square feet branch includes a full maintenance, hire centre as well as parts, technical and sales support functions.
Despite the economic downturn, Windsor has seen a 20 percent increase in business throughout West Yorkshire over the past 12 months. The move to Ossett also coincides with the appointment of two additional engineers and George Lister as sales manager, who joins the company with over 20 years’ experience in the forklift business.
“George is a great addition to the team and brings considerable experience and expertise. We maintain a philosophy of continual investment,” adds Stephen. “Our approach allows us to offer a local one-stop service for finance, hire, sales, maintenance and spares. In tough trading conditions we believe we are able to add value to the customer through a quick, reliable and competent service.”
Concludes Stephen: “‘Partnership’ is a term that is often used, but less often meant. Frequently it’s simply the latest jargon from the ‘school of sounding genuine’ and it’s never backed-up by results. But here at Windsor, it simply means working with you. Whether you’re a one-tuck or a fleet user, by taking-up a partnership with us, we’ll be able to better understand your business. That way, we can structure sales, service, supply or hire in the way that works better for your business.”
